Visit of International Representatives ( Gepa )

The international representatives of GEPA organization visited the Dambadeniya Export Village as a part of their annual visit to Sri Lanka. They are the main buyers of eco friendly tea packaging system introduce by the Dambadeniya Export Village. The members of the Community Radio had a live discussion with the international visitors about their visit.

A Discussion with Gemidiriya

An event organized to exchange experience between Dambadeniya Community Radio and Gamidiriya Community radio held at the studio of Dambadeniya Community Radio.

Our 1st Year Anniversary






The celebration of the 1st year anniversary of Dambadeniya Community Radio we have organized a one day work shop with the collaboration of Neth FM channel, and gave the opportunity for the students of this area who involved in media circles. The resource persons from Neth FM delivered a valuable session which would help to enhance the experience of the participants. The workshop concluded by distributing certificates to the active members of the Community radio.

Sharing economical view points with Minister Bandula Gunawardhana

This is the discussion held with the minister of Trade, Commers and consumer affairs , Mr. Bandula Gunawardhana. The minister shared information with regard to the current situation of the economy of Sri Lanka.

World Children's Day

An interview had with professor Jayathilaka from the University of Sri Jayawardanapura and few participants of the schools expressed their views during the work shops held at town hall, Narammala organized by Narammala junior school regarding World Children's Day.

Training Work shops



As an initial step the interested person of Community Radio got an opportunity to be participated for the work shops regarding News reporting, Script writing, Sound controlling, Editing, Announcing, Voice controlling . Few prominent journalists of Sri Lanka contributed their excellent support at this work shops because these work shops were organized for the beginners of this field. The participants were able to complete the series of work shops conducted by Mr.Lal Hemantha Mawalage From Rupawahini Co-operation/ Mr.T.V.K. Jayantha from SLBC/ Mr.Wijedasa Liyanage from SLBC/ Mr.Rubasingha from SLBC.

Current activities of ICT section of DDF

The interview was conducted by the community radio with the members of the IT club regarding the activities/programmes organized by the IT section , such as computer distribution , IT study courses , IT work shops , Servers due to the commitment of the well trained staff the students have benefited to compete their studies successfully.

Support To Dairy Farmers

Dambadeniya is well known area, where the majority of local farmers focused on dairy Development as means of livelihood. When most of the farmers closely engaged in dairy development it shows us that we need to enable at broader set of people to benefit and improve their skills.

To obtain the maximum result the best approach can be adapted is to implement technologically based functionalists to ensure the immediate consideration, because to minimize the unhappy outcomes that they suffered so far.

Having qualified with rich experience conduction community radio programmes “The Dambadeniya Community Radio” took the responsibility to enable all interested local dairy farmers who had burning issues regarding the dairy industry.

As the result of the commitment of the members of the Dambadeniya Community Radio, they fast tracked the urgency of solving the problems the farmers had. Dairy is an upcoming agro based industry, which can modify the behavior and overload performance of the farmers. Hopefully this kind of technological based mechanism can grated the farmers to have confidence about generating more jobs to improve the quality of life.

Being a community driven thrust worthy program the Dambadeniya Community Radio is offering a great service for the farmers who individually straggled for survival.

Further more it is important to mention as a great result of the community radio program, they could show the valuable path to implement the e-Dairy Extension Programm using the high technology. It will support the dairy farmers to enter to the competitive business environment.

Inauguration of Dambadeniya Community Radio

Dambadeniya Community Radio has been initiated by Dambadeniya Development Foundation with the assistance of One World South Asia, and inaugurated on 9th of July 2007. The main objective is to fill the communication gaps existing in the Village at all the levels.
